I have the honour to inform you that during

the absence on leave of Mr. J. C. da Cunha, iligher Grade Clerk in the Treasury, which was reported in Sir F. D. Lugard's Despatch

2 No. 247 of 29th. June, 1911, his duties were performed by Mr. M.

Azim, 2nd. Grade, the latter's by lir. Wong Shiu Ki, 4th. Grade, and the rest of the work was carried out by Messrs. Cheng Sui Ki and Young Sing U both in the 4th. Grade, neither of whom, however, benefited pecuniarily owing to their grade. The Treasurer reports that "they deserve recognition for doing their work well and for putting in overtime consistently in keeping it up to date".

I therefore recommend for your favourable consideration that Mr. Cheng should be granted a bonus of 890 and Mir. Yeung one of $70.
